Lisa Hunte

As a woman that was raised in St. George’s Episcopal Church from birth to present day, I was Baptized, received my First Communion, and Confirmed within these church walls. In later years, I was then “presented as an official member of society” and crowned Queen of the St. George’s Cotillion Ball, which was to foster community, support charity, and appreciate the maturation of teenagers into young adults. When I was a teenager, I was a part of the Georgians Youth Group serving as the Treasurer. After graduating from college, I returned and joined the mentoring program done with the Leadership Training Institute mentoring youth in Group Homes. Being a part of this church program led me to also do additional mentoring with the Institute in a separate program where I continually mentored one young girl through her teenage years. Within the church, I then served on the Green Committee and as Treasurer on the Board for the Dejah Joyner Youth Center. I have been a committed member of St. George’s Church my whole life, so the well-being and growth of this church is my first priority and main reason for becoming a vestry member. I consider this church my home and the members my second family. My financial and non-profit/community service background will aid my abilities to add substantial input and perspectives to diverse needs of the church.
